Job summary

Hollywoodbets is seeking a Betting Clerk to be based in Newton Park, Eastern Cape, to manage branch operations, take customer bets, handle cash, payouts and ensure compliance.

You will update betting boards, memos, results and scratchings, and stay knowledgeable on betting rules, odds and pay-outs. This role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and integrity within the Purple Team.

1–2 years in gaming industry is advantageous; join a brand focused on growth and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage cash within the branch according to defined processes/procedures and minimize risks, Thef t/fraud.
• Team members are to be alert to emerging attempts to defraud the company.
• Ensure betting boards are updated timeously.
• Updating of memos, card changes, results and scratchings which occur throughout the day.
• Be knowledgeable on all betting rules, odds and pay-outs.
• Team members must be knowledgeable on confirmation limits and always call the BSC and Events Office before laying a bet over the limit.
• Team members are to inform the Team Leaders/ Betting Manager when they are laying large bets that do not require confirmation.
• Branch Growth: Update memos, changes, results, scratchings, and manage betting limits.
• Sales Administration: Manage cash and minimize risks; be alert to fraud attempts.
• Cash Management: Ensure accurate float at start, conduct interim checks, address shortages immediately.
• Branch Appearance: Keep the branch neat and maintain workstations.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous service and handle complaints.
• Compliance: Adhere to internal policies and dress code; avoid taking bets in uniform.
• Values: Promote and live Hollywood values.
