Job Summary

The Bending Machine Operator is responsible for operating press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components according to precise fabrication drawings and specifications. This role involves setting up machines, selecting appropriate tooling, performing quality checks, and ensuring that all finished parts meet production and safety standards. The operator plays a key role in the fabrication process, contributing to the production of high-quality metal parts used in various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sets up and operates press brake or bending machines to bend metal sheets and components according to drawings.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and bend instructions.
  • Selects appropriate tooling, dies, and materials based on job requirements.
  • Adjusts machine settings for angles, back gauge positions, pressure, and speed.
  • Measures and inspects finished parts using measuring tools (e.g., vernier calipers, protractors).
  • Identifies and corrects machine or material issues during operation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Skills & Experience Needed
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of bending machine operation, bend allowances, ability to read technical drawings.
  • Machine Operation Skills: Experience with Amada, Bystronic, or similar machines, knowledge of setup procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate measurements, commitment to high product quality.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of press brake safety features, awareness of material safety.
Recommended Qualifications
