Job summary

BDO Wave in Cape Town is seeking an ACCA Supervisor to oversee ACCA trainees on audit engagements for BDO UK, ensuring working papers are reviewed to the required quality standard before the UK team signs off.

You will provide on-the-job training, coaching, and guidance on technical audit and accounting matters, and you will help manage deadlines and trainee productivity. This is a full-time, in-office role in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Completion of SAICA articles (3 years) with results.
• Relevant professional accreditation (ITC).

Responsibilities

• Provide regular updates to the division management team.
• Build and manage relationships with UK Managers.
• Oversee and review work performed by ACCA trainees ensuring compliance with standards, audit quality and firm methodology.
• Provide on the job training and coaching to trainees.
• Provide guidance on technical audit and accounting matters.
• Assist with time management and productivity of trainees.
• Provide trainees with constructive feedback on a timely basis.
• Ensure the review notes given to trainees are clear and detailed.
• Manage review timelines to meet UK deadlines and timing requirements.
• Train and develop trainees through knowledge sharing.
• Formulate training interventions to improve audit quality.
• Monitor trainees’ progress and development needs.

Kickstart your career as a ACCA Supervisor with BDO Wave, a specialised Extended Delivery Team supporting BDO UK in delivering excellence, agility, and value in audit and advisory services.

The ACCA Supervisor forms part of the team overseeing the ACCA trainees working on audit engagements for BDO UK. They are responsible for ensuring that audit working papers completed by the ACCA trainees are reviewed and at the required quality standard prior to the work being reviewed by the BDO UK audit team. The ACCA Supervisor is also involved with the day-to-day operations of the division, including the completion of skills reviews on LTS. They report to the ACCA Manager of the division for daily work contact.

Education & Skills
