Bakery Manager

Position Overview
The Bakery Manager will oversee the daily operations of the in-store bakery, ensuring consistent product quality, efficient production, and excellent customer service. This role requires a balance of hands‑on baking expertise, operational leadership, and strong people management skills. The ideal candidate will drive sales growth while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Production
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily bakery production schedules.
- Ensure consistent product quality, freshness, and availability.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering raw materials and minimizing wastage.
- Implement and maintain bakery recipes, processes, and presentation standards.
- Staff Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage bakery team members.
- Create staff schedules to ensure proper coverage during peak hours.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Customer Service
- Ensure friendly, efficient, and professional service at all times.
- Address customer feedback and resolve complaints promptly.
- Promote and upsell bakery items to boost sales.
- Compliance & Safety
- Enforce compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe bakery environment.
- Conduct regular checks and audits to meet company and regulatory standards.
- Financial Performance
- Monitor and control bakery costs, including labor, ingredients, and overheads.
- Work towards achieving sales targets and profitability goals.
- Generate daily / weekly / monthly reports on bakery performance.
Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Baking, Culinary Arts, Food Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a bakery management or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in both hands‑on baking and retail / restaurant operations.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and control costs.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
