Job summary

Belay Talent Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer (.NET) to join our Pretoria-based, in-person team. You will design and implement backend services, APIs, and database integrations, while ensuring robust deployment in Docker/Linux environments.

You will collaborate with the Technical Lead and cross-functional teams, owning code quality, security, and performance. Strong .NET and REST API experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
• 3 to 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong C# and modern .NET experience
• Experience developing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core
• Good SQL and relational database knowledge
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Experience with Git and source control
• Understanding of software deployment practices
• Understanding of API authentication and security
• Familiarity with software testing and backend architecture principles

Responsibilities

• 60%: Backend and API development
• 30%: Application deployment and Docker/Linux environment support
• 10%: CI/CD, automation, performance optimization, and deployment improvement
