This 12-month fully remote contract position offers you the opportunity to deliver high-impact backend engineering solutions for one of Dijkstrack’s international product partners. You’ll be working within modern engineering environments across distributed teams. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java or C#
Build scalable APIs and microservices following clean architecture principles
Integrate with databases and external systems securely and efficiently
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with team standards
Participate in code reviews and advocate for engineering excellence
Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployments and performance optimisation
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement
Solid experience in Java (Spring Boot) or C# (.NET Core/.NET 6+)
Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and microservice principles
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing
Comfortable working with Git, agile teams, and CI/CD environments
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Knowledge of message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MSMQ)
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Prior involvement in distributed/remote delivery models
Embedded in strong engineering teams with structure and process
Remote flexibility with intentional culture and community touchpoints
