Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aviation Security Officer to manage ramp operations security at Cape Town International Airport. You will safeguard aircraft, passengers, and staff by enforcing security protocols and responding to threats in a dynamic airport setting.

Key duties include patrols, access control, baggage checks, and incident reporting. A Grade A security certificate and PSIRA registration are required, with the ability to obtain aviation clearance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, preferably aviation or high-security environments.
• Valid Grade A security certificate and PSIRA registration.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain and maintain aviation security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of aircraft stands, terminal areas, and other airport zones to deter security breaches.
• Monitor access control points to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas.
• Perform security checks on baggage, cargo, and aircraft as procedures dictate.
• Respond to security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity promptly and appropriately.
• Collaborate with airport authorities, airlines, and law enforcement to maintain security coordination.
• Maintain incident logs and prepare detailed security reports.
