Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking an experienced Aviation Security Specialist to enhance and maintain robust security protocols protecting passengers, assets and staff in a fast-paced aviation environment.

You will develop, implement and monitor security measures, conduct risk assessments, oversee screening operations and train security personnel, while liaising with law enforcement and regulators to stay ahead of evolving threats.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in aviation security management.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations (ICAO, national civil aviation security programs).
• Experience with security screening equipment and technologies.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant security certifications (CASP) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce aviation security policies and procedures to protect airports, aircraft, and personnel.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Oversee and manage screening operations, including passenger, baggage, and cargo security checks.
• Investigate security breaches and incidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
• Train and supervise security personnel, ensuring they are proficient in security protocols and the use of security equipment.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies to coordinate security efforts and stay abreast of evolving threats.
