SM-1As a Regulatory Certification Manager in the automotive industry, your primary responsibility is to ensure that vehicles and automotive products comply with local, national, and international regulations and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight
    • Stay up-to-date with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing the automotive industry.
    • Interpret regulatory requirements and communicate them effectively to internal stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain compliance strategies to ensure products meet all necessary certifications.
  • Certification Process Management
    • Manage the end-to-end certification process for vehicles and automotive components.
    • Coordinate with engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to gather necessary documentation and data for certification.
    • Liaise with regulatory agencies and third-party certification bodies to facilitate testing, inspections, and audits.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of certification activities, including test results, compliance reports, and regulatory correspondence.
    • Generate regulatory documentation such as technical files, conformity assessment reports, and declarations of conformity.
    • Pile data and metrics to track certification progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate regulatory requirements into product development processes.
    • Provide guidance and support to engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure regulatory compliance is built into product designs from the outset.
    • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Risk Management and Issue Resolution
    • Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Investigate compliance issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints related to certification.
    • Work with relevant stakeholders to address issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Advocacy and Representation

    • Advocate for the company's interests while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
