Job summary

Pronel Consultants is seeking an experienced Automation Technician for a manufacturing environment. You will maintain automation systems, support operations, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to projects with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include asset management, PM scheduling, backups, change control, and coordinating with departments to meet production goals. Siemens PLC experience and 5+ years in automation are essential.

Qualifications

National Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics/Industrial Automation or related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial automation environment.
Proven PLC programming and control systems experience, Siemens PLC essential.
Experience with HMI and SCADA platforms and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update automation asset register and maintenance system.
Update preventative maintenance schedules and job cards.
Perform backups of automation systems and verify integrity.
Identify and implement continuous improvement to reduce losses.
Provide technical support during major equipment breakdowns.
Manage automation changes through formal change-control procedures.
Ensure software licensing compliance.
Conduct automation and network audits and implement corrective actions.
Lead or participate in RCA investigations.
Manage automation spare parts and inventory.
Perform PLC, HMI and SCADA programming, commissioning and testing.
Contribute to automation and engineering projects as project leader or team member.
Collaborate with other departments to meet operational requirements.
