Job description

Well established automotive company are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to support, maintain, and improve automated systems and equipment within our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient machine functionality, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing automation solutions that enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery, robotics, and control systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on automation equipment
  • Support PLC programming, modifications, and upgrades where required
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize system performance
  • Ensure all automation systems meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Document maintenance activities, system modifications, and technical reports
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and production staff
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and innovation

Requirements:

  • National Diploma / Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as an Automation Technician in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, and automated machinery
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or be on standby when required
