Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Automation Engineer to enhance manufacturing capabilities in Polokwane. You will design, implement, and maintain automated systems to boost efficiency, safety, and productivity, working with PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical/mechatronics or software engineering with expertise in automation and control systems, and will drive innovation across production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, CS or related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Solid understanding of robotics, sensors and automation components.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot and repair automation to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems and code.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to identify automation opportunities.
• Ensure automation systems meet safety standards and regulations.
• Stay updated with new automation technologies and recommend upgrades.
