Job summary

Tetra Pak South Africa seeks an Automation Engineer to lead design, implementation, testing and commissioning of automation solutions across Africa. You will support market companies with automation strategies, provide technical support, assist with pre-project costing, and engage in customer meetings.

The role involves reviewing electrical drawings and P&ID documents, creating scope documents, estimating costs, and coordinating SAP items.

Qualifications

• BSC or BTech in Electrical Engineering or ND in Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation.
• 3–5 years of proven automation and electrical engineering experience.
• Food manufacturing experience is essential.
• Willingness to travel ~50% of your time.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and commission automation solutions.
• Support Africa region with automation strategies and project execution.
• Review electrical drawings, P&ID documents, and process descriptions.
• Assist with pre-project costing, customer meetings and site evaluations.
• Create BOMs for electrical and automation solutions and coordinate SAP items.
• Develop and commission plant automation systems (hardware and software).
• Provide technical support, commissioning and remote/on-site troubleshooting.

Job Summary

We are looking for anautomation engineer would be actively responsible for design, implementation, testing and commissioning of automation solutions. The incumbent would be supporting the Market companies with developing automation strategies and executing automation projects. The selected candidatewould provide necessary technical support for the Africa cluster and service to our customers. He/She would also be expected to support for automation pre project costing and sales activities.

Tetra Pak South Africa an international Food Processing/Packing company seeks a highly qualified Automation Engineer to support the regions of South, East, West & Maghreb region if required, the role will be based in the Johannesburg or Capetown.

What you will do

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Market companies with developing automation strategies and executing automation projects.
• Providingnecessary technical support for the Africa cluster and service to our customers.
• Reviewing electrical drawings, P&ID documents & process descriptions.
• Providing support with pre projects costing, customer meetings, site evaluation, creation of scope documents.
• Understanding the Tetra Pak Plant Master internal methodology and providing cost estimates for electrical & automation costing.
• Understanding the S88 and S95 standards, PCS 7 experience will provide a great platform to be successful in role.
• Creating of BOM for electrical and automation solutions.
• Coordinating for electrical and automation items on SAP.
• Developing and commissioning of plant automation systems (hardware and software) as part of an overall production solution combined by process and automation.
• Development of tools to enable system integrator support for rapid software engineering and hardware creation.
• Technical support, commissioning and troubleshooting activities – remote and/or at site (Africa region).
• Creating software design documents, prepare and perform FAT tests with end customers.

We believe you have

• BSC or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering, light current, Process instrumentation.
• Equivalent ND in Electrical Engineering, light current, Process instrumentation.
• 3-5years proven ability in automation and electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
• Food manufacturing experience is essential.
• Project knowledge.
• Willingness to travel 50% of your time.
