Responsibilities
  • Act as a key relationship partner or overall engagement leader for banking groups and central banks.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex risk framework design, assurance, regulatory advisory, and transformation programmes.
  • Provide strategic, C-suite and board-level advice on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and their strategic implications.
  • Design and embed enterprise-wide non-financial risk frameworks, including Information & Cyber Security, Operational Resilience, Payments & Emerging Technologies, and IT/Third-Party Risk.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk taxonomy, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), scenario analysis, and escalation protocols.
  • Ensure alignment with global and in-country banking regulations across various African nations.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand the firm’s footprint in the pan-African banking and central banking sectors.
  • Lead priority account strategies and coordinate efforts for multinational clients across Africa.
  • Represent the firm at key regulatory forums, central bank governor meetings, and industry bodies.
  • Mentor high-potential talent, champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and foster a strong risk-aware culture.
Must-Haves
  • 5 -10 years of experience as a Partner in a Big 4 or equivalent firm.
  • Proven track record as a signing partner on engagements with large banking groups and central banks.
  • Extensive Africa-wide exposure, including experience with hyperinflationary accounting and currency devaluation scenarios.
  • CA(SA), BCompt (CTA) and BCom Honours degrees.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence regulators, CEOs, and CROs.
  • Demonstrated impact in mentoring and commitment to black economic empowerment initiatives.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Post-graduate qualification in Finance/Economic Policy.
  • Experience on firm governance boards and DEI sub-committees.
  • Prior Big 4 partnership with global relationship partner training.
  • Existing network with key financial institutions or private equity firms in financial services.
