Job summary

Zeal HR (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg’s Benoni area is seeking an Audit Manager to lead audit engagements and mentor teams. You will manage planning, execution, and delivery of audits across industries, ensuring compliance with ISA and IFRS for SMEs while maintaining client relationships.

The role emphasizes strong technical knowledge and leadership, with delivery on deadlines and high-quality outputs in a growing practice environment.

Qualifications

• Completed SAICA articles (compulsory).
• CA(SA) designation preferred but not compulsory.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Audit Supervisor or Audit Manager within a small-to-medium sized audit practice.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, Income Tax Act, the Companies Act
• Solid understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and hands-on audit experience from planning to completion.
• Proficient in CaseWare Working Papers, Caseware Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements from planning through to completion.
• Review audit files, working papers, annual financial statements, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure engagements are completed in accordance with ISA, IFRS for SMEs, and the South African Companies Act.
• Assess audit risks and design appropriate audit approaches and procedures.
• Review engagement budgets, timelines, and team allocations to ensure profitability and efficiency.
• Resolve complex accounting, audit, and reporting matters arising during engagements.
• Prepare and review management reports and communication to clients.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
• Attend client meetings and assist partners with business development opportunities.
