Requirements
- An appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Audiology or Speech Therapy & Audiology, completion of Community service.
- Current independent practice registration with HPCSA for 2025/2026.
- No experience required after completion of community service in Speech Therapy and Audiology.
- Competencies: Knowledge and skill in adult and paediatric hearing screening, diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings.
- Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with vestibular and electrophysiology assessments.
- Ability to work as a team, planning, organizing, coordinating, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage in solution-based problem solving.
- Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment.
- Applicants should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherent job requirement.
Responsibilities
- To conduct adult and paediatric audiological procedures in accordance with best practice guidelines and engage in clinical research.
- To ensure that clinical resources are maintained according to protocols, which includes biological checks and reporting of faults.
- To work within a multidisciplinary team within professional boundaries.
- To supervise community service therapists and students.
- To comply with Performance Management processes.
- To participate in departmental team building and projects.
- To adhere to infection control procedures and assist with maintaining accreditation requirements.
