Our opportunity:

We are currently seeking a casual Storeperson to work within our team at the Calvary Mater Hospital located in Waratah Newcastle NSW. Reporting to the Materials Manager this position requires a storeperson who at the completion of their training is responsible for the warehousing and storage of goods in a safe manner and in accordance with supply and demand. The role requires a pro‑active approach to safety and adherence to our Safety Culture behaviours.

This role would receive shifts that are across the span of hours Monday to Friday 6:30am‑3:00pm.

This role pays a competitive casual rate of pay.

Key responsibilities will also include:
  • Receive process and dispatch goods
  • Monitor stock levels including receiving and unloading stock
  • Picking orders of stock and delivering to the relevant team within the hospital
  • Record incoming and outgoing of goods
  • Apply product information
  • Safely operate a forklift and pallet jack
  • Clean premises and equipment
  • Adhere to health safety and security procedures
  • Other duties as requested
To be successful in the role you will need:
  • To be physical fit and reliable
  • Hard working with capacity to fulfil lifting requirements of the position
  • Have strong administrative and communication skills
  • An ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously
  • A flexible approach and attitude towards work

In line with the required legislation a current criminal record check and staff health clearance will be required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
