Job summary

A leading certification service provider is seeking a Sales Executive in Cape Town to drive revenue growth through B2B sales in food safety certification services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety standards and proven sales experience. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, promoting certification services, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of B2B sales experience in food safety, compliance, or certification services.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in food manufacturing, processing, retail, and distribution sectors.
  • Promote certification services including ISO, FSSC, HACCP, GMP, and related audits.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Provide consultative support on compliance and certification pathways.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, auditors, and marketing to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Represent the company at industry events, expos, and webinars.

Purpose

To drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities for food safety certification services.

The Sales Executive will build strong relationships with clients across the food value chain, promoting Assurecloud's certification portfolio and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in food manufacturing, processing, retail, and distribution sectors.
  • Promote certification services including ISO, FSSC, HACCP, GMP, and related audits.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Provide consultative support on compliance and certification pathways.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, auditors, and marketing to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Represent AssureCloud at industry events, expos, and webinars.

  • Food Safety Standards & Regulations: Deep understanding of ISO, FSSC, HACCP, GMP, and relevant South African and international food safety legislation.
  • Certification Processes: Familiarity with audit cycles, certification bodies, accreditation requirements, and compliance documentation.
  • Industry Sectors: Insight into food manufacturing, processing, retail, hospitality, and agriculture sectors.
  • Sales & CRM Tools: Proficiency in using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Risk & Compliance: Understanding of risk management principles and how certification mitigates food safety risks.
  • Consumer Protection & Legal Frameworks: Awareness of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act and the Consumer Protection Act.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to translate complex certification requirements into clear, client-friendly proposals.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Consultative selling approach with technical acumen.
  • Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
