To perform duties within the Rand Water Institute: Research Administration & Integration Unit under the guidance of the GM: RAI.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in SCM / Business Management / Logistics / Operations / Risk Management / Compliance / Engineering / Finance / Law, or related field (NQF 7).
- Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in public-sector procurement, research and administration, governance & compliance, or related fields.
- Solid and proven experience in the water / civil / built environment is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement, PFMA, PPPFA, and SCM regulations.
- Eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies.
- In-depth knowledge of public-sector procurement, financial management, compliance and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Financial, regulatory, and procurement risk management.
Primary Duties
- Drive and Support SCM Innovation-driven research Initiatives: Spearhead innovation-driven supply chain management (SCM) research to enhance operational efficiency and strategic value.
- Manage Company-Wide SCM Research: Coordinate and align cross-functional SCM research projects to ensure cohesive and impactful outcomes.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organizational policies.
- Procurement Planning & Performance Monitoring: Track, analyse, and report on procurement plans to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate transparent governance structures, prepare executive reports, and engage stakeholders to align SCM strategies with business objectives.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, coach, and develop team members to cultivate a high-performance culture and professional growth.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaborative success.
- Strategic Representation: Act as a key representative in high-level forums, ensuring SCM initiatives align with Rand Water's overarching mission and objectives.
- Report writing: Review, consolidate and prepare SCM research reports and management reports.
