PlaceTalent Pty in South Africa is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to review service requests, analyze structures and prepare detailed reports. You will support with modification designs and coordinate with designers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering and 1–2 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in CAD (AutoCAD) and industry codes. Strong communication and time management are essential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in analysis/design of communications or non-communications structures, or 2+ years in construction/field engineering.
• Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
• Familiarity with civil/structural engineering codes and standards.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 and related steel/concrete standards is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Review service requests, drawings and mapping to ensure sufficient information.
• Perform structural analyses of low to intermediate complexity using hand calculations and software.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports on utilisation, performance and recommendations.
• Assist with low-complexity modification designs and coordinate with designers.
• Review maintenance inspection reports and provide rectification solutions for defects.
• Support senior engineers with analysis and design for more complex structures.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, databases and project trackers.
• Provide timely support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor workload, schedules and project delivery with progress updates.
• Ensure all work complies with standards, legislation and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering service requests, structural drawings and mapping information to ensure sufficient information is available.
• Perform structural analyses of low to intermediate complexity using hand calculations, analysis software and other approved engineering tools.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports outlining structural utilisation, performance and recommendations.
• Assist with low-complexity structural modification designs and coordinate with designers on modification drawings.
• Review tower maintenance inspection reports and provide rectification solutions for identified structural defects.
• Support senior engineers with analysis and modification designs for more complex structures.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, databases and project trackers.
• Provide timely and accurate support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor workload, schedules and project delivery and provide regular progress updates.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with applicable standards, legislation and company procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
• At least one of the following:
  • 1+ year of experience in the analysis and design of communications structures; or
  • 1+ year of experience in the analysis and design of non-communications structures; or
  • 2+ years of experience in construction or field engineering.
• Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
• Knowledge of relevant structural engineering codes and standards.
• Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 and other relevant steel or concrete standards would be advantageous.
• Basic CAD knowledge, preferably AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
