Job summary

ABB is seeking a capable Project Coordinator to support planning, coordination, and execution of Electrification Service projects in Cape Town. You will work closely with senior project managers, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to keep projects on track and within budget.

The role emphasizes strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills, with a focus on delivering timely updates and risk management. Onsite work in Cape Town is required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, Engineering, or related field or similar.
• 1-3 years of project management or project coordination experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Provide support for planning, coordination, and execution of projects with senior project managers and stakeholders.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budget management.
• Track project progress and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery.

• Prepare project reports, status updates, and presentations.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects while working closely with senior project managers, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Service in our offices in Cape Town.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Administration

• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budget management
• Track project progress and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Prepare project reports, status updates, and presentations
• Identify and elevate project risks and issues to senior management
• Support stakeholder communication and meeting coordination
• Contribute to process improvements and best practices implementation

Qualifications For The Role

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, Engineering, or related field or similar
• 1-3 years of project management or project coordination experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• PMP or CAPM certification advantageous
• Experience with MS Project
• Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall methodologies advantageousvery? well
• Experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing sectors
