Job summary

Nelson Mandela University seeks an academic to contribute to the Faculty of Law, primarily in the Department of Public Law. The role focuses on learning and teaching, research, and engagement with the community while supporting departmental and faculty objectives.

The appointee will teach Public Law modules such as Public International Law, Law of the Sea, African Regional Law, or Local Government Law; supervise LLM and LLD candidates; and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

• LLD in Public Law or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years teaching, supervision and research experience.
• Proven research outputs in accredited journals; includes books/ chapters.
• National and international recognition in teaching and research.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Public Law modules.
• Assume responsibility for programme development and course materials; supervise lectures, tutorials and assessments.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate candidates (LLM and LLD).
• Conduct independent research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Perform administrative duties and other functions as assigned by the Department or Faculty.
