Qualifications

PhD in Economic History or related field.
At least 6 years of teaching/research/industry experience.
Track record of publications in quality journals.
Proven ability to attract external research grants.
Experience supervising postgraduate students (Honours, Masters, PhD).
National and international recognition in a relevant research area.
Strong academic leadership and mentorship within the department.

Responsibilities

Lecture undergraduate and postgraduate students in two or more of: Development in Southern Africa; Globalization Then and Now; Development in a Changing World Economy.
Supervise and mentor Honours, Masters and PhD students.
Contribute to the academic functions within Development Studies and participate in community engagement projects.
Help grow the academic standing of the Discipline and School.
