Hotel in the Rosebank area is looking for an Assistant Spa Manager to join their dynamic team. The Assistant Spa Manager communicates closely with the spa team and supports the Spa Manager in progressing the general spa operation, particularly at the level of revenue, customer service, staffing, stock management and day-to-day operations. The Assistant Spa Manager creates an engaging and interactive environment with subordinates to ensure each employee is treated with care, honesty, integrity, and empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Practice exceptional customer service and ensure all staff employees provide the same level of service.
- Participate in and promote marketing activities.
- Communicate regularly and efficiently with the spa manager and team on all operational aspects.
- Assist with recruitment and interview candidates, orientation, training, performance evaluation and discipline of staff.
- Ensure compliance with all policies.
- Work with the Spa Trainer and Head of Front Desk to provide proper internal trainings that guarantee top-quality treatment and customer experience.
- Closely monitor staff skills, establish the list of training needs from internal and external trainers.
- Maintain a strict and permanent protocol of duties and responsibilities with all team members.
- Participate in reporting of daily/weekly/monthly/yearly sales performance; monitor sales according to performance objectives and ensure clear knowledge and reading.
- Monitor staff rosters and performance in terms of work quantity and quality so that the hours of treatment are fairly spread across the therapists available.
- Support Spa Manager with controlling therapist target bonus.
- Monitor customer feedback.
- Participate in organizing monthly employee meetings.
- Communicate clear and direct employee performance expectations, productivity and accountability.
- Supervise and assist in all bookings, guest welcoming and checkout, spa set up.
- Control payment collection and invoices paid.
- Manage reports, inventory, feedback and suggested changes that are beneficial, accurate and timely.
- File client consultation cards.
- Monitor revenue and suggest areas of improvement from the Front Desk point of view.
- Work with Front Desk Manager to coordinate cancellations and waiting lists efficiently.
- Liaise marketing ideas with spa manager to improve bottom line.
- Maximize spa availability and revenue; arrange and coordinate all events.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 CIDESCO Beauty & Spa Management Diploma or similar.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Senior Spa Therapist or Assistant Spa Manager in a luxury hotel or a well-established spa brand.
