Introduction

Access Hardware Holdings is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Service Technician to join our Service Department in Johannesburg.

This is a junior‑level, full‑time role designed to provide support to our experienced technicians while gaining valuable hands‑on exposure to service operations within the access solutions industry. At Access Hardware Holdings, we pride ourselves on professionalism, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our Head Technician while developing your skills and building a career in technical services. Recruitment shall be done in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of the Company. People living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Technician in performing corrective service and preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment.
  • Support the installation of dormakaba and non-dormakaba equipment in commercial buildings.
  • Contribute to delivering high‑quality service that ensures customer satisfaction and meets performance standards.
  • Project a professional image through competent service procedures, personal presentation, and effective communication with customers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate service records, documentation, and technical data.
  • Support the management of assigned parts, van spares, consumables, and company tools.
  • Ensure company vehicles are properly serviced, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Assist in completing asset registers monthly.
  • Communicate with Sales and Service management regarding customer feedback and potential opportunities.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric qualification.

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license (or in the process of obtaining one).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, managers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to use power and manual tools confidently.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the willingness to learn and grow.
