Job description

Availability: Full Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Route Setter! As an Assistant Route Setter, you will work closely with the Head Route Setter to set and forerun routes, maintain hold inventory, make recommendations for ongoing hold and equipment purchases and work in collaboration with Head Route Setter and managers to provide the highest quality experience for our climbing community.

Responsibilities
  • Assist route setting, stripping, cleaning and organizing inventory of holds
  • Ensure appropriate roped routes and boulder problems including consistency, quantity and quality, correcting grades as needed
  • Set and forerun routes up to 5.12 and problems up to V6+
  • Work with Head Route Setter to maintain seamless setting schedule
  • Address gym maintenance including fixing spinners, inspecting and maintaining auto belays, hang tags for grades of previously set routes/problems, etc.
  • Assist in competitions
  • Follow appropriate safety guidelines and use fall safety equipment when necessary
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of climbing industry trends
  • Other duties as required
Requirements
  • Flexible schedule – ability to work early mornings and afternoons
  • 2+ years climbing and route setting experience a plus
  • USAC setting certification preferred
  • Friendly, approachable and energetic personality
  • Must be comfortable heights of 40+ feet and able to work on ropes, ladders and lifts
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate power tools including but not limited to, impact drivers and angle grinders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated to work self-directed and independent as well as a Team Player
