Assistant Restaurant Manager

Delight guests with trendsetting and innovative products and outstanding service experiences, achieving operational profitability by driving sales targets and managing costs, and contributing to the planning of the food and beverage menu offerings and promotions.
Set and maintain food and beverage service standards and conduct regular guest service, menu, sales, and standards training with staff so that they can offer world‑class service to our guests.
Lead and inspire teams, fostering teamwork, encouraging personal accountability, and promoting staff engagement and retention.
Oversee a wide range of responsibilities: manage staff processes such as personal presentation, recruitment, performance, and conduct; oversee the daily restaurant operations, including bookings, stock ordering and control, restaurant preparation, cleaning and hygiene protocols, service, and cash ups.
Matric Certificate and a qualification from a recognised South African or International educational institution.
Completion of Cape Wine Academy, WSET or Cocktail Bar courses.
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy, up‑market restaurant with a background in using technology including micros / speed point machine and MS.
Track record of leading and managing large teams.
Flexibility to work shifts across multiple outlets, fulfil F&B duty management shifts, and own transport.
Excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, and a thorough understanding of hotels, competitors, and the city.
Strong team leadership and management abilities, financial management expertise, and proven selling skills; ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
