Restaurant Assistant Manager
Location: La Perla, Sea Point

Key Responsibilities
- Front of House Support
- Assist with daily FOH setup, cleanliness, and stock readiness.
- Oversee guest service standards and support the team during peak hours.
- Train and guide FOH staff in service, presentation, and guest relations.
- Manage menu updates and printing as required.
- Support the Restaurant Manager with scheduling and shift coverage.
- Cold Kitchen Duties
- Assist with preparation of salads, platters, and starters.
- Check and replenish cold kitchen stock.
- Support with placing and receiving orders.
- Maintain hygiene, storage, and food safety standards.
- Stock & Ordering
- Assist with daily stock checks for FOH, cold kitchen, and consumables.
- Source and order supplies as needed.
- Record deliveries, report shortages, and manage wastage control.
- Training & Development
- Provide on-the-job training for FOH and kitchen staff.
- Ensure staff understand menu items, presentation, and service standards.
- Train staff in upselling, complaint handling, and customer care.
- Mentor new team members and assist with performance evaluations.
- General Duties
- Support daily operational management.
- Step in across FOH or kitchen when required.
- Assist with preparation for functions and events.
- Ensure smooth communication between kitchen, FOH, and management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a similar restaurant supervisory or assistant management role.
- Strong understanding of both FOH and basic kitchen operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy, high-end dining environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
