Job description

Are you an organised and quality-driven higher education professional ready to take the lead in academic administration?

We’re partnering with a respected educational institution to find an Assistant Registrar— someone who can combine precision, leadership, and process excellence to keep academic operations running smoothly.

What you’ll do:
In this senior role, you’ll be responsible for developing and managing academic systems, ensuring compliance with higher education regulations, and maintaining data accuracy across the student lifecycle. You’ll coordinate across departments, oversee graduations and examinations, and support institutional reporting to bodies such as DHET and CHE.

You’ll also guide a small team, drive process improvements, and play a key role in maintaining quality assurance standards that underpin the institution’s reputation.

What you’ll need:

  • A Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in academic administration, quality assurance, or student records management.

  • Deep understanding of higher education frameworks, compliance, and regulatory reporting.

  • Strong data management, policy development, and project coordination skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

If you’re driven by structure, accuracy, and continuous improvement — and thrive on keeping things organised while supporting big academic goals — this could be your ideal next move.
