Job description

Responsibilities

• Assist the Refrigeration Engineer in maintaining and repairing all refrigeration and air conditioning systems on board the vessel
• Monitor and maintain proper temperatures and humidity levels in all refrigerated and frozen storage areas
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, changing filters, and checking refrigerant levels
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Assist in the preparation and execution of the vessel's refrigeration and air conditioning maintenance plan
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
• Assist in training and supervising junior engineering staff as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigerants
• Familiarity with marine refrigeration systems is preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
