Assistant Manager (Global Mobility Services)

Location: South Africa – 7 offices across the country.

Company: Forvis Mazars – an international professional services firm.

The role is part of the Tax Consulting Division and focuses on expatriate tax compliance and research on a variety of tax issues.

The Assistant Manager leads expatriate tax compliance assignments, conducts research on personal, expatriate, and employee tax matters, and compiles reports, opinions, and letters under the oversight of senior team members or partners.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and write tax reports, opinions, and letters affecting individuals and multinational employers.
  • Prepare complex personal tax returns, including gross-up calculations.
  • Administer and process declarations of cessation of tax residency and shadow payroll.
  • Handle tax administration and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct due diligence and tax reviews with a focus on employee tax.
  • Interface with clients and colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage budget for client engagements.
  • Manage individual productivity and performance metrics.
  • Write articles and other client communication materials.
  • Engage in self-training, development, and group participation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in tax consulting, focused on personal tax, expatriate tax, and employee tax.
  • Accounting or law degree with a tax qualification.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • English proficiency.
