Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Help consolidate and report financial results.
  • Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations to provide insights into the company's financial performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support decision‑making processes by providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with departments to gather information, analyse variances, and recommend cost optimisations and budget adherence.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining strong internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist in implementing financial policies, guidelines and best practices.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, explanations and addressing audit findings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing cash flow, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and identify working‑capital improvement areas.
  • Use financial software and tools to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Identify system enhancements and participate in system implementation projects.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (finance, accounting, operations, senior management) to gather information, provide insights, and support decision‑making.
  • Act as liaison between finance and other departments regarding compliance and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and filings accurately within deadlines.
  • Perform under pressure and meet strict group and local deadlines.
  • Work closely with the CFO; act as the CFO’s right hand in the finance department.
Professional Experience

5 years post‑articles experience desirable (at least 3 years corporate experience required).

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of data analysis tools such as Pivot tables.
  • At least 2 years SAP experience within the past 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience drafting budgets and monthly reporting preferred.
  • Experience compiling AFS essential.
  • Corporate income tax experience essential.
  • Experience assisting external auditors or SAICA articles (in auditing) preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High integrity, ethics, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
Minimum Academic Qualification
  • Completed Honours degree and CTA in BCom Accounting Sciences required.
  • Completed professional accounting designation (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA) preferred.
  • Completed articles required.
  • Articles with any medium or large audit firm (TIPP) preferred.
