Assistant Finance Manager (C4)

Purpose of the Position
To develop, maintain and administer financial reports in order to facilitate decision-making with regards to the Company’s activities and to provide a technical support service to the Finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting, analysis and interpretation of reports; develop reports in line with Pepkor requirements.
- Maintain and update existing reports.
- Specify, create, and manage ad hoc reports.
- Compile and submit monthly reports for PEP Africa on time.
- Conduct variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Draft Annual Financial Statements, prepare, review, and finalise management accounts, including monthly revenue report, monthly management accounts pack roll‑forward and finalisation, creation and distribution of the monthly Exco Management Pack, quarterly reporting, IFRS16 projects.
- Administer project plans and keep them up to date.
- Analyse and reconcile data between systems.
- Identify and resolve integration differences; understand processes and system interdependencies to ensure smooth integration.
- Coordinate and manage the audit programme between external auditors and PEP Africa Finance.
- Assist with resolving audit queries.
- Maintain audit timelines to ensure completion within six months after year‑end.
- Manage audit budgets to prevent overruns.
- Participate in ad‑hoc duties/projects.
Job Incumbent Requirements
- BCom degree (with Accounting major) or equivalent
- Completed articles
- Actively studying towards CA(SA) / Newly qualified CA(SA)
- Financial Reporting experience (Caseware advantageous)
- Computer literacy: MS Excel / Google Sheets
- Highly proficient in the latest versions of MS Office / Google Suite: including Word/Docs at an advanced level in Excel/Sheets at an advanced level
- Strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills.
- The ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
- Excellent planning, organising and time management skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and to deal with complexities, use initiative to solve problems.
- Ability to work independently, as well as be a team player.
- South African Citizen.
