The Silo Hotel's Assistant Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for planning, organising, and developing the overall operations of the Housekeeping department to deliver on The Royal Portfolio’s purpose, which is “To give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay”.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-manage all Housekeeping day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines, to the highest standards of The Royal Portfolio
- Plan, organise, and direct team members to ensure the highest level of guest experience and satisfaction
- Identify guests' needs and respond proactively to all concerns
- Lead the Housekeeping team by attracting, recruiting, and training talented personnel
- Establish targets, KRAs, schedules, policies, and procedures
- Oversee staff training and ensure delivery to the required standards
- Ensure maintenance issues are reported and follow-up is conducted promptly
- Responsible for monthly stock-take
- Hold team briefings every morning and afternoon to ensure thorough communication
- Embark on and promote The Royal Portfolio’s purpose and values, fostering this culture within The Silo
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years of hospitality management experience
- A minimum of 2 years of Housekeeping management experience
- Proven reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
- Up-to-date knowledge of Housekeeping trends and best practices
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality or related field is advantageous
- Experience leading cohesive and high-performing teams
- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and accounts
- Exceptional attention to detail, hardworking, with a passion for people and hospitality
- Proficiency in operational systems including MS Office, Teams, Micros POS, and Opera
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous
- A passion for learning, teaching, and employee development
- High standards and a drive to eliminate waste
- International experience and travel experience are advantageous
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
It is important that candidates are team players and culturally aligned with The Royal Portfolio. South African citizenship is advantageous.
