Job summary

Msuez Uk in Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Driver to support our drivers in delivering goods safely and on time. This full-time, permanent role involves assisting with loading, securing cargo, and basic route planning to ensure timely deliveries.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, a valid license with a clean record, and strong communication skills. Experience in a similar role is preferred, and flexibility to work weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with local roads and routes.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods onto the truck.
• Ensure that all goods are properly secured and protected during transportation.
• Help with route planning and navigation to ensure timely delivery.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the driver or supervisor.
• Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies at all times.
