Job description

The Assistant Company Secretary supports the Company Secretary in ensuring the company complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements, maintains proper governance standards, and facilitates effective communication between the board of directors, management, and shareholders. This role involves managing corporate filings, board meetings, company records, and assisting with legal compliance matters.

Requirements

• Relevant Degree/Qualification (Language/Administration/Legal, etc.).
• At least 6 years’ experience in the compilation of agendas, minute-taking, scriptwriting, journalism, or a similar field.
• Computer literate in MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written language proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (required).
• Ability to work in an open office setup.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compile and prepare agendas.
• Draft and edit minutes, reports, and corporate communications.
• Assist with the execution of VKB’s Year Planner.
• Assist with the management of the VKB Group’s Corporate Governance Framework.
• Perform administrative functions in the VKB Group’s Secretariat Department.
• Facilitate the integration of secretarial functions across a large group of companies.
• Conduct research and ensure compliance.
