Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pretoria for an Assistant Catering Manager.

The role involves overseeing daily catering operations, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with kitchen staff, managing catering logistics, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

The Assistant Catering Manager will also help plan and execute catering events, maintain inventory, and uphold the company's values of innovation and exceptional service.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar catering or supervisory role.
  • Passionate about food, quality preparation, and upmarket functionsputer literate (MS Word, Excel, and email).
  • Skilled in compiling recipes, menus, and costings.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to delegate and manage a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in food presentation and plating.
  • Experience in stock control, ordering, and monitoring kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Able to handle food-related complaints and resolve them professionally.
  • Understanding of dietary requirements and children's menus.
  • Positive attitude, neat appearance, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and under pressure when required.
  • Must reside in or around Pretoria; own vehicle or driver's licence an advantage.
