Qualifications / Requirements
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Markman, Port Elizabeth: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
  • Detail-oriented and ideal for someone who enjoys structured finance work, is confident in Sage Evolution, and is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting tasks from start to finish
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience as Assistant Accountant, Finance Administrator OR Bookkeeper
  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience using Evolution or similar accounting suite
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
Key Performance Areas
  • Responsible for the day-to-day finance function, including:
  • Processing payments and managing payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly summaries and reports
  • Posting month-end and year-end journals
  • Creating and managing bills in Evolution
  • Assisting in preparing annual financial reports for exco
  • General finance administration and ad hoc accounting tasks
  • Working closely with senior management team
