OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Journal Entries & GL Accuracy

Accurately process journal entries to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centres in line with financial reporting requirements.

Communicate and process valid accruals to ensure expenses are captured in the correct accounting period, supporting accurate month‑end closure.

Provide assistance with additional tasks and projects as requested by the Accountant or Financial Manager.

Ensure that the provision for bad debts journal entries is processed in line with the doubtful debt provision calculation.

Able to investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.

Ensure that the post‑retirement provision expenses have been processed in line with the budget guidelines and the profit forecast guidelines.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner and ensure reconciling items are followed up and cleared promptly.

Reconciling bank statements with internal records.

Intercompany transactions.

Record and reconcile inter‑company loan account transactions accurately, adhering to the monthly submission timetable.

Processing of IFRS16 contracts

Prepare monthly reconciliations between SAP‑RE and GL's.

Investigate and resolve SAP RE discrepancies.

Monitor the SAP‑RE clearing accounts.

In‑depth knowledge of IFRS16.

Collate supporting detail for the calculation of lease budget guidance.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Accounting

Preferred

  • 1 - 2 years' experience
  • Critical for identifying errors or inconsistencies
  • Prioritizing tasks effectively, especially during month‑end
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Strong spreadsheet skills, including formulas (VLOOKUP, SUMIF), pivot tables.
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 1 -2 years of relevant work experience (internship or entry‑level role in finance)
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (i.e. SAP).
  • Exposure to healthcare or EMS industries is an advantage
KNOWLEDGE

Required

  • Computer literate - MS Word, Excel, MS Team, Outlook, etc.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills.
  • Good working knowledge of finance
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and exceptional organising skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of the healthcare industry.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
