Position Overview

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department in handling daily accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
  • Help with the processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation tasks.
  • Process and record daily transactions in the accounting system.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and files for accounting transactions.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks and ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications
  • A maximum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • A degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting software (experience with accounting tools is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills
  • Exposure to bookkeeping or accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero is an advantage.
