Area Sales Professional Inland (HW and SW) – Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

Responsibilities
- Develop new account leads and expand existing accounts within your geographic territory.
- Build and maintain relationships with current customers and identify new customers.
- Sell and promote Varian hardware and software solutions, managing all pre‑sales activities.
- Scope and determine products and/or packages to be sold in the assigned territory.
- Analyze territory for sales potential and develop effective sales strategies.
- Maintain appropriate territory coverage and schedule product demonstrations.
- Serve as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and solutions, closing complex technical sales.
- Manage the sales order/quotation process and promote a life‑cycle sales approach.
- Provide regular customer and market feedback to the company.
- Represent Varian ethics, values, and business practices in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Lifesciences or equivalent (or Master’s degree with 3 years related experience).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with an oncology background (radiotherapist, medical physicist, or technologist).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with HR/ERP systems such as Workday is desirable.
- Knowledge of Eclipse or Aria software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of oncology customers, their requirements, and clinical challenges.
- Excellent problem‑solving, teamwork, and independent working skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Proven selling skills and ability to close complex technical deals.
- Experience working with matrix organizations and remote teams.
- Good time and territory management skills.
- Additional language (Zulu or Xhosa) is an advantage.
