Job summary

Tsebo Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee all security operations in a retail environment. The role commands security personnel, develops policies, and ensures compliance with PSIRA and safety standards.

Strong budgeting, investigations, and incident response are essential. The position requires leadership, team management, and proven experience in security within distribution centers and retail.

Qualifications

• High financial & business acumen, negotiation and influence - solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
• Excellent language proficiency and computer literacy - MS Office
• Sound Retail Risk security and distribution centre experience
• Corporate investigations and Loss prevention SOP procedures to reduce risks
• 3-5 years management and supervision experience in DC's and retail
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures - leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee all security operations, command security personnel, develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards, demonstrate surveillance and emergency skills
• Execute client site operating procedures as per risk protection requirements
• Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures
• Controlling budgets for security operations and monitoring expenses
• Recruiting, training and supervising security officers
• Attend parades, staff and client meetings
• Plan and coordinate security operations for specific sundry events & SLA requirements
• Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
• Review reports on incidents and breaches
• Investigate and resolve issues
• Direct wages labour management control
• Contract revenue contribution and overhead control
• Effective logistical control and allocation of equipment, site assets, communication and patrolling tools
• Effective site visits, inspections, audits, toolbox talks, health and safety with compliance control
• Effective analysis of staff turn aligned to contract allocation, biometric enrolment, clocking and rostering
• Effective management of costs in overtime, averaging, relievers
• Supervision and training and development
• Conduct regular pay query investigations, corrective actions and feedback
• Maintain serious misconduct hearings and attendance management as per code of conduct
• SOP and compliance with PSIRA and legislation (dog handlers) at the site

• Maintain serious misconduct hearings, incapacity sick leave and poor performance aspects in accordance with code of conduct
• SOP and compliance with PSIRA and Legislation (i.e. dog handlers) at the site

Skills and Competencies

• High financial & business acumen, negotaition and influence - solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
• Excellent Language proficiency and computer literacy - intricate working knowledge of MS Office package

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A
• Matric/Grade 12
• Tertiary Qualification in Security Management is advantageous
• Proven experience in client centric public ralations and conflict handling as security manager
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV, alarms, fire-detection)
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Valid Driver’s licence and own vehicle
