Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Residential Architectural Drafter to join our team.

This role is ideal for a professional passionate about residential design and highly skilled in creating precise construction documents.

You will collaborate closely with architects, designers, and consultants to translate design concepts into accurate, buildable drawings that meet project standards and codes.

Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM Pacific Time.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage complete sets of residential architectural working drawings from sketches, preliminary concepts, specification sheets, and other design data.

Revise and update existing plans, incorporating redlines and maintaining version control.

Prepare supporting documents and ensure accurate documentation of plan changes.

Collaborate with Interior Designers and Design Assistants to produce drawings for electrical / low voltage layouts, plumbing rough-ins, cabinetry, flooring, shower surrounds, and other finish selections.

Create detailed sections and construction details based on residential building methods and materials.

Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes.

Interpret and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering drawings for integration into architectural plans.

Compile and prepare complete permit submittal packages for review by building departments.

Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across all project drawings.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in architecture required.

Minimum of 3 years of architectural project experience under the supervision of a Registered Architect.

At least 3 years of residential drafting experience, with strong knowledge of single-family design, IBC Type V construction (wood stud framing), assemblies, detailing, and construction methods.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

High proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).

Strong knowledge of residential construction drawings, detailing, and building systems.

Ability to read and integrate MEP, Structural, and Civil Engineering drawings into architectural plans.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey design intent and technical details.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage projects at various stages.
