Placements24 is offering an Apprentice Welder program that is fully remote, with initial study around Welkom. Through online modules and virtual guidance you’ll learn welding theory, safety and metallurgy fundamentals, supported by remote assessments and mentorship.

The program leverages simulations and optional practical centers to prepare you for hands-on welding roles upon completion. A stipend is provided throughout the apprenticeship, supporting motivated learners.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a technical inclination.
• Strong interest in welding and fabrication as a career path.
• Ability to learn independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness, assessed through virtual or remote means.
• Reliable internet access and a dedicated space for remote learning.
• Commitment to the full apprenticeship duration and any required practical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned online modules and virtual training sessions on welding theory and safety.
• Study and understand various welding processes, including TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
• Familiarize yourself with welding codes, standards, and material properties through remote resources.
• Participate in virtual simulations and practical exercises as guided by instructors.
