Placements24 is offering an Apprentice Plumber program in Port Elizabeth. Trainees will learn installation, maintenance and repair of water and drainage systems under experienced plumbers across residential and commercial projects in the Eastern Cape.

Participants gain practical on-site experience, safety and code compliance training, and a pathway to recognized trade qualifications with a structured mentorship.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in plumbing and a willingness to learn the trade.
• Good physical condition, capable of manual labor, bending, and working in various environments.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and obtaining necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed plumbers with the installation of pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems.
• Learn to diagnose and repair water leaks, blockages, and other plumbing issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams.
• Perform tasks such as cutting, threading, and soldering pipes.
• Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keeping them clean and in good working order.
