Job summary

PepsiCo Inc. is offering an apprenticeship to gain practical experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of plant machinery and equipment.

You will assist qualified artisans in electrical, mechanical, and automation maintenance, and support welding and fabrication tasks while following safety standards. You will participate in routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of basic circuits.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required overall.
• Mathematics and Physical Science can be advantageous.
• Interest in mechanical, electrical and maintenance work.
• Able to learn technical skills in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dismantling machinery and equipment for maintenance, repair, and inspection activities.
• Support the assembly, installation, and alignment of machinery and production equipment under supervision.
• Assist in moving and positioning machinery and equipment as required.
• Participate in the construction and preparation of machine foundations and installations.
• Assist with the repair, lubrication, and servicing of machinery and equipment.
• Gain practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing basic electrical circuits and components.
• Assist with testing equipment to verify electrical and mechanical performance.
• Learn and support the setup, monitoring, and fault-finding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
