Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent with a strong focus on Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and an interest in engineering.
• Willingness to undertake theoretical studies at a technical college.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified mechanical fitters in the assembly, installation, and dismantling of machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing on various mechanical equipment.
• Operate workshop machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses under supervision.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape materials using precision tools.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical faults and undertake corrective actions.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Document maintenance and repair activities accurately.
