Job summary

Macsteel Service Centres SA in Centurion is seeking dedicated individuals to join a Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship. You will train in precision engineering, operating machine tools, reading drawings, and fabricating components in a workshop environment.

The program requires Grade 12 and a trade-tested background is preferred. A valid driver's license, strong mechanical aptitude, and commitment to the apprenticeship duration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Fitter and Turner in the Manufacturing Industry.
• Matric/Grade 12 with passes in Mathematics and Technical subjects.
• Trade Tested: Fitter and Turner.
• Strong knowledge of Fabrication, Welding and Installation is beneficial.
• Valid Driver's License and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and maintain machine tools (lathes and milling machines).
• Develop skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specs.
• Fabricate, assemble and install mechanical parts and machinery.
• Perform precision grinding, cutting and shaping of metal components.
• Undertake theoretical studies and practical assessments related to the Fitter and Turner trade.
