Qualifications

• Grade 12 with strong Maths and Physical Science.
• Passion for diesel engines and heavy vehicle mechanics.
• Willingness to undertake theoretical studies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physically fit and able to handle workshop demands.

Responsibilities

• Assist diesel mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles.
• Learn to perform diagnostic checks on diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Participate in disassembly, repair, and reassembly of engine parts.
• Inspect and service brakes, suspensions, and exhaust systems.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and use technical manuals effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time taken.
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in compliance with workshop procedures.
• Keep the workshop area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Attend block release training at a designated technical college.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
