Qualifications

• Bachelor's / Honours / Masters / PhD in Data Science, Statistics, CS, Maths, Engineering or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Python, SQL, ML fundamentals).
• 2–5 years of hands-on data science experience.
• Own problems end-to-end: framing, modeling, communicating results to stakeholders.
• Some exposure to production or semi-production environments.
• Experience building and evaluating ML or statistical models using real-world data.
• Exposure to deployed/operational models is advantageous.
• Relevant technical or cloud certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Use data science, statistics and ML to solve real-world business problems.
• Translate business questions into analytical modelling problems.
• Explore and assess data sources for quality and predictive value.
• Develop statistical, forecasting, predictive modelling, simulation and optimisation solutions.
• Design and engineer features to improve model performance.
• Design experiments and apply statistics to validate hypotheses.
• Build, evaluate and validate models for production use.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Software Engineers to move models to production.
• Monitor model performance and contribute to improvements.
• Communicate findings with business users using visualisations.
